About

Josh and Jeremiah Ackermann have been fabricating elaborate stories ever since they were children when they told their first collaborative lie. They built the Falling For Stories podcast as a space that could give artists the freedom to explore their comedic or dramatic perspectives. They started recording the podcast in the summer of 2022, and they aspire to bring growth to the brand with the future contribution of their fellow storytellers.

Josh Ackermann

Writer | Showrunner

All work and no play make Josh a dull boy. Josh Ackermann escapes his desk job by writing in his free time. One of his short stories, One Helluva Headache, was published in the English Bay Review. He has led several writing groups within the city of Vancouver, including the long-standing West End Writers.

Telling stories has been his lifeblood since he performed in the role of Hamlet in an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Within his time on the stage, he’s played, including but not limited to, the roles of Peter in Edward Albee’s Zoo Story and Billy Bibbit in the stage adaptation of Ken Kesey’s One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest.

He’s currently revising his first two horror novels.

Jeremiah Ackermann

Composer | Sound Director

Jeremiah Ackermann is a composer, thought bubble and general oddity. He has earned an education in a massive variety of genres. Performing alongside the classically trained to the beautifully homegrown, radio-friendly to the abstract his styles have cleared the gap over and over. Within the past decade, he has garnered a name for himself through his distinctive energy and presence on stage as a drummer meeting resounding praise as “a battery of rhythm” (GoldFlakePaint). Some notable performances include opening for Cub Sport, Car Seat Headrest, Jack Garrett, Royal Canoe, Actors, and SALES.

In his free time, Jeremiah explores his personal thoughts within lo-fidelity, intimate soundscapes under the moniker germanboyfriend. His release “me, digging my own grave” was a concentrated, recreational effort.

In 2015, Dream Cymbals & Gongs began their partnership by endorsing Jeremiah.
